For 20 years, I rocked the world of education—leading schools, supporting amazing (and often burned-out) educators, and pouring my heart into helping kids thrive.
As a high-achiever, I wasn’t content to just dip my toes into the field of education. I dove in headfirst, climbing the ladder at lightning speed. By 25, I was one of the youngest assistant principals in my county, and by 30, I had become a principal. The climb was fast and furious, and after eight more years, multiple promotions, a very comfortable salary, and titles that others envied, I found myself burned out, too.
I started questioning everything: my passion, my purpose, my alignment (and occasionally my sanity). Spoiler alert—I wasn’t okay staying stuck in a career that felt more meh than meaningful.
That little voice we all have? It got loud. And for the first time, I actually listened. I made a career pivot that felt less like a leap and more like cliff diving. Along the way, I learned something life-changing: you don’t need permission to reinvent yourself.
I wish someone had told 38-year-old me—fully vested in a solid retirement system, coasting toward a “comfortable” future—that living your purpose doesn’t feel like checking boxes on someone else’s timeline. It doesn’t look like staying in a job that misaligns with your passion or settling for a life that feels just fine. So, I made the jump—from public educator to private education consultant.
Through coaching, I found the clarity and courage to rewrite my story. I dove headfirst into education consulting, opening up a world of growth I never could have imagined, while also becoming a certified life coach. Through working with incredible coaches (and having a few hard, hilarious realizations about myself), I discovered something: You are not your job.
You are not the degree you earned at 20 (when you thought Steve Madden platforms and bedazzled J.Lo sunglasses were the height of sophistication). And newsflash: you don’t have to stay stuck.
Here’s the thing: I’m still figuring out who I want to be when I grow up, and that’s exactly why I’m here—to help you rewrite your story, shake the overwhelm, and figure out your next big move. Whether it’s a career pivot, ditching a habit that no longer serves you (insert the nightly wine pour), figuring out how to parent without losing your cool (or your mind), or simply learning how to show up as the best version of yourself, we’ll turn your fork-in-the-road moments into fuel for transformation.
What's with the Abacus?
Because life, much like those little beads, is all about balance, strategy, and intentional movement. But let me be real—I’ve always loved a good checklist. At first, my personal abacus was just a cute desk accessory, something to make me look more sophisticated during Zoom calls. Then one day, I started assigning beads to my daily goals—workouts, meditation, gratitude practice, even hitting my protein targets. Each time I nailed one, I’d move a bead. It became this oddly satisfying, visual high-five for staying on track. Before I knew it, the abacus went from “decor” to “motivation central.”
When it came time to name my coaching practice, it hit me—this little tool wasn’t just about counting; it was about intentional action, just like my coaching. So here we are: Abacus Life Coaching, where we move your “life beads” together until everything finally clicks.
When I’m not coaching or crushing my consulting work, you’ll find me shuttling my kids to all their extracurriculars, squeezing in road trips to national parks, enjoying any type of live music, and giving in to endless belly rub demands from our pup, Bruce.
I’m all about soaking up the chaos and the quiet moments with my husband and kids—whether it’s hanging out at the lake, hiking some local Florida trails, or figuring out how to squeeze in a workout (still not a fan of burpees). I’m always finding ways to pour into my own cup!
If you’ve made it this far, I’m betting on you. You’re ready to make a move, and I’m here to help you strategically move the beads of your own abacus. Click the button below, and let’s connect!
